Alistair 'Tichy' Black
Born: 1954
Tichy Black signed for Inverness Thistle in 1970 at a time when the club was embarking on its most successful period. The attacking team of the seventies effectively utilized wingers and Tichy fitted that mould perfectly. Although he had a trial with the then English first division team Bristol City he went on to play his whole career with Inverness Thistle.
At his peak he was the most skillful player in the Highland League described by one northern newspaper as 'an exciting and tricky winger in the traditional Scottish mould being both small and fast'.
During his seventeen years with the Jags Tichy won every honour possible in the North, except for the League Cup, as well as a host of representative honours culminating in his final season before retirement a league medal as part of the glorious Thistle side who went through the campaign with only that single defeat on the last day of the season.
Amazingly in over 700 first team appearances for the Jags he never picked up a single booking.
A true Jags legend.
